While the January sales may conjure images of unbearable queues and crowds on the high street at 6am, thankfully the best offers are also available online, so it's a breeze to shop from the comfort of your sofa. It's also a great time to invest in some new homeware or furniture for a 2026 refresh. After all, along with making resolutions to make certain changes to our lives or start new good habits, the start of the new year also makes us reassess our houses. Something that perhaps worked in theory, didn't turn out to be so accommodating when your home was full of guests over Christmas. Those curtains that have been looking a little tired might have started to really bother you when drawing them every evening, that rug might have begun to feel more brown than off-white, and that sofa? Well, that's probably seen better days.
Luckily, there is also no better moment to pull the trigger on the new sofa bed you've been eyeing up, or grab a snazzy new kitchen gadget such as a coffee machine, an ever-useful air fryer, a brand new mattress or a cordless vacuum cleaner. Why? Well, many retailers are currently taking part in January reductions, which make the big purchases a little less expensive. In light of this, we have scoured the internet to find the best offers from our favourite online furniture shops and quality retailers we genuinely love. As the month rapidly progresses towards February, time is running out for many of the sales and prices on some items have been reduced multiple times. So now is definitely the time to take advantage of the secondary reductions we're seeing at this point. We're updating this piece as we spot new offers, so check back for additional bargains. Scroll on for a summary of our favourite deals, FAQs and the products that are firmly on our wishlist.

Best January homeware deals
Soho Home haven't yet revealed their sales for Boxing Day and into January, but we've found some lovely bits that are reduced already.
What to buy: Take the opportunity to buy bigger items that have transformative powers this January, investing in something that'll last past the rush of the sale. Soho Home's sale last year included plenty of beautiful rugs, such as the Lorna Rug, a colourful Persian-inspired piece. Beyond that, the Kingsley Bar Cabinet is a grand eye-catcher and top of our wishlist.

NiX
Headed up by Nicola Harding, NiX has become one of our go-tos for considered, smart pieces with personality. The elevated design details of NiX products sets them apart from many of the more popular high street names. While the brand tends to avoid participating in events like Black Friday, NiX will be doing some brilliant deals on in January. Watch this space to see which star pieces you'll be able to save on.
What to buy: The Out for the Count is the perfect modern four-poster to add a sense of grandeur to your bedroom, while the
High street favourite John Lewis looks set to have an impressive array of January discounts and January sales, on Christmas products, tech, lighting and cookware.
What to buy: Consistently one of the best deals you'll find in any John Lewis sale period are discounted Le Creuset pans. The iconic cookware company is on the more premium end of the scale and any discount window provides the perfect opportunity to invest in a few new pots and pans. It’s also a great place to buy perfume, as well as tech. John Lewis has great customer service if you need it; they also price match products and will refund the difference if you find the product cheaper elsewhere, within 7 days of purchase. Some of its best-known brands include Dyson, Lego and Apple. They have lots of site-wide deals, so have a shop around the John Lewis website, but we've outlined some our top picks above.
What to buy: We love Pooky for fun patterned lampshades, and their bobbin and bamboo lamp bases. They also stock a great range of wall lights and bathroom-safe lights. Their rechargeable lamps are also particularly useful in the winter months, as you can move them anywhere convenient without worrying about sockets.
Anthropologie
From Matilda Goad cushions to Swedish rugs from LAYERED, Anthropologie stock a wonderful edit of interiors brands, and have steadily grown their own line of furniture over the past few years.
What to buy: Anthropologie's extensive home offering includes everything from crockery, to furniture, curtains and Christmas decorations. We're lusting after this beautiful Matilda Goad & Co. Tufted Plaid Rug.
What to buy: Check out their sale page for massive discounts on some of their lovely, well-crafted pieces in the lead-up to the main Boxing Day event, from the Theseus Chest of Drawers to the striking Berstone Leather Armchair.
Heal's
Historic British furniture store Heal's has a legacy going back to 1810. Their website is easy to navigate and showcases their impressive range of stocked brands, from ercol to Kartell. We are also partial to their own brand line of furniture.
Graham & Green
Graham & Green is one of our favourite places to shop online for furniture, with a rustic luxury aesthetic and a nice balance between traditional and contemporary pieces.
What to buy: As well as their minimalist homeware, loungewear and scented candles, The White Company consistently rank among our favourite artificial Christmas trees, for their incredibly realistic look and sturdy quality. If you're looking for an easy gift or just to sample a selection of the brand's different home fragrance products, one of their hampers, which comes in a reusable wicker basket, would be our recommendation.
Affordable home retailer Dusk will undoubtedly bee offering some unbelievable prices for Boxing Day, and the discounts tend to be bigger and better on their higher priced items, such as sofas and bed frames. We also love Dusk's range of pretty bedding, much of which is discounted for the event.
What to buy: We love the look of the stripy Ascot Ottoman Bed. Dusk also sells a wonderful range of sofas, loveseats and sofa beds.
House of Hackney
With their signature patterns and maximalist aesthetic, House of Hackney furniture and accessories will always make a statement.
Damson Madder

Swyft

La Redoute
With highly affordable price points across much of their range, and a varied breadth of furniture styles available, if you're looking for it, then La Redoute probably has it. This can make it somewhat overwhelming to browse the website, but if you're searching for something specific, or are happy to spend time browsing the categories, there are treasures to be found. Plus, their hero rug, the Madotto, is also on sale. Read about why the rug is an interior designers and editor favourite here.
What to buy: La Redoute typically puts on one of the biggest sales, with up to 50% off absolutely everything being a common occurance. Use this window of opportunity to pick up some great deals on soft furnishings such as rugs and bedding - we love their Scala Washed Linen pillowcases. It’s also a great retailer to find reductions on kitchen appliances, from the mundane (but very useful!) microwaves, to vacuum cleaners and air fryers too.
Historic London department store Liberty is expected to participate in the January sales, with money off covetable brands such as Le Labo, Bitossi, Soho Hom, &Klevering, as well as their own famous printed designs.
What to buy: Liberty is one of our favourite places for homewares, from its fabulous Liberty print homeware, to stocking some of our favourite brands like &Klevering and Alessi.
Pottery Barn
Having only just launched over here earlier this year, American furniture staple Pottery Barn is very fresh to the UK scene, but that doesn't mean they're missing out on the sales. In fact, they've already started including Boxing Day discounts on their website.
Ruggable
We've tried and tested Ruggable's washable rugs ourselves, and at the moment we're loving their collaboration with cult brand RIXO. The collection only launched recently, but was recently part of the Black Friday sale, so we're hoping to see the prices go back down on Boxing Day.
Vinterior
Perhaps not the first place you might think of when considering what you might want to buy in the sales, Vinterior has a dedicated sale page, and we're hoping to see them joining in with the post-Christmas sales this year to enable you to save on some truly special on-off pieces, whether you're more into mid-century, Arts & Crafts or Victorian.

Frequently asked questions
While many retailers launch their sales on Boxing Day itself, there are some exceptions. John Lewis, for example, launched their online sales on Christmas Eve, while their in-store deals started onn 27th December. Other brands, like Piglet in Bed, Panda, and Habitat, launched some brilliant deals much earlier than that. We have also seen prices go down multiple times over the course of January, meaning that waiting until later in the month can be extremely lucrative. Just look at the incredible deal on this John Lewis sofa, for example; now under £500, it was over £700 when the sales started.
Lots of sales are still on at the time of writing, with more products being incorporated into the sale as products sell out. However, dates do vary from retailer to retailer, so do check the small print to avoid missing out. We expect sales to start coming to an end as we go into February.
